Last updated: April 2, 2026

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing or using the Cannon Strike Industries website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. ELIGIBILITY — AGE AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

By placing an order, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 21 years of age to purchase all firearms (rifles, shotguns, and handguns) and ammunition in California (per California Senate Bill 1100, effective January 1, 2019, and Penal Code §27510).
  • You are not prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms under federal law (18 U.S.C. §922(g)) or California law (Penal Code §29800-29905).
  • You are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, or otherwise legally eligible to purchase firearms in the United States.
  • You are not purchasing any firearm on behalf of another person (straw purchase — a federal felony under 18 U.S.C. §922(a)(6)).

3. IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

All firearms transfers require government-issued identification. Requirements vary by product type:

Long Guns (Rifles & Shotguns)

  • Valid, non-expired government-issued photo ID (California Driver License or California ID Card)
  • Valid Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (California law, SB 1100)

Handguns (Pistols & Revolvers)

  • Valid, non-expired California Driver License or California ID Card with current address
  • Valid Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC)
  • Second proof of residency (one of the following):
    • Utility bill (within 90 days)
    • Property tax bill (current year)
    • Rental or lease agreement (current)
    • Government-issued document showing current address
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Handgun must be on the California Roster of Certified Handguns (for dealer sales)

Ammunition

  • California requires a point-of-sale eligibility check for all ammunition purchases (Proposition 63)
  • Valid California Driver License or California ID Card required
  • In restricted states (CA, IL, NY, CT), ammunition must be shipped to an FFL/licensed vendor

4. FIREARMS TRANSFER PROCESS (CALIFORNIA)

All firearm purchases must comply with California and federal transfer requirements:

  1. Order Placement: Customer places an order online. Firearms cannot be shipped directly to customers — they must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer.
  2. Arrival & Notification: When the firearm arrives at our shop (or the selected FFL dealer), the customer is notified.
  3. Paperwork — DROS: Customer visits in person with required ID to complete ATF Form 4473 and the California Dealer Record of Sale (DROS). A $37.19 DROS fee applies (per California DOJ).
  4. Background Check: DROS is submitted to the California DOJ for a background check.
  5. 10-Day Waiting Period: California law mandates a minimum 10-day waiting period from the date of DROS submission before a firearm may be delivered (Penal Code §26815, §27540).
  6. DOJ Decision:
    • Approved: Firearm may be released to the customer after the waiting period.
    • Delayed: Additional review required. The waiting period may extend up to 30 days.
    • Denied: Customer is prohibited from receiving the firearm. A refund will be issued minus applicable fees.
  7. Pickup: Customer returns with valid ID to collect the firearm. Safe handling demonstration may be required for handguns.

5. PROHIBITED ITEMS AND STATE RESTRICTIONS

  • We comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding the sale and transfer of firearms and ammunition.
  • Certain products cannot be shipped to certain states due to local regulations (e.g., magazine capacity restrictions in CA, CO, CT, MD, NJ, NY).
  • NFA items (suppressors, short-barreled rifles/shotguns, AOWs) require additional ATF approval and are sold as "Contact for Purchase" only.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order that we believe violates applicable law.

6. PRICING, TAXES, AND FEES

  • All prices are listed in US Dollars.
  • Sales tax is calculated based on the shipping destination (or pickup location) using current rates.
  • California Firearms Excise Tax (CFET): An additional 11% tax applies to firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition sold or transferred in California, effective July 1, 2024 (Revenue and Taxation Code §12100).
  • DROS Fee: A $37.19 fee (set by California DOJ) applies to each firearms transaction for the background check and registration process. This fee is collected at the time of paperwork completion.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice. We are not responsible for typographical errors.

7. RETURNS, REFUNDS, AND CANCELLATIONS

  • Firearms: Due to the nature of regulated items, firearms sales are generally final once the DROS has been submitted. If a transfer is denied by the DOJ, a refund will be issued minus any non-recoverable fees (shipping, transfer fees).
  • Ammunition: Ammunition is non-returnable once shipped due to safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Parts & Accessories: Unused items in original packaging may be returned within 30 days for a refund. Customer pays return shipping.
  • Gunsmithing Services: Custom work is non-refundable once work has begun. Quoted services may be cancelled before work starts.

8. SHIPPING POLICY

  • Firearms are shipped only to FFL dealers via UPS or FedEx (signature required, adult only).
  • Ammunition is shipped with ORM-D/Limited Quantity markings as required by carrier regulations. Ground shipping only — ammunition cannot be shipped by air.
  • Parts and accessories ship to residential addresses via USPS, UPS, or FedEx.
  • We do not ship internationally.
  • Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Cannon Strike Industries is not liable for delays caused by DOJ background check processing, carrier shipping delays, or circumstances beyond our control. Our liability for any order is limited to the purchase price of the item(s) ordered.
